SINGLE SHOT BREECHLOADING RIFLE. Cal. 17 HMR. S# 00768MX85E. Bbl. 24". Model 1885 Low Wall single shot breechloading rifle mfg. in Japan by Miroku for Winchester. The left quarter flat of the octagonal bbl. is marked with the Winchester trademark logo (repeated on upper receiver tang), followed by Winchester's importer information and "JAPAN/MIROKU", with the cal. designation marked on the right quarter flat. Right side of the receiver is marked with the S#. Frame, lever, and buttplate exhibit a case colored finish, with the bbl. exhibiting a blue finish. Breechblock is polished in-the-white. Checkered wood schnabel tip forearm and straight grip stock with sling eyes. High profile brass beaded blade front sight. Rear sight dovetail is empty. Receiver and bbl. are fitted with scope rings. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: plastic bag containing a manual, rear sight, and sling swivels. CONDITION: excellent, with metal components retaining virtually all of their original factory finishes overall. Left forward edge of the receiver exhibits some fading. Mirror bore, exhibiting a small patch of what appears to be light to mild surface oxidation or grease, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics.
